This guide lists the policies and procedures for Thomas Library.
All Wittenberg University students, staff, faculty and administrators have access to Thomas Library.
Thomas Library also welcomes community patrons during regular business hours. Starting in the Fall of 2024, the library will have some hours, specifically weekends and after 8pm, where patrons will need to use the university's app to enter. If a community patron would like to visit during credential-restricted hours, please email the library director to arrange a visit.
While a guest at Thomas Library, all patrons are expected to abide by Wittenberg campus policies and procedure. Thomas Library reserves the right to minimize access to visitors at our discretion and to prohibit access to the library to any individual who fails to comply with the policies of the library or Wittenberg University.

Thomas Library has over 300,000 print volumes and more than 460,000 unique ebook titles in its collection as well as over 84,000 print and electronic periodicals. We provide access to over 200 subject databases and numerous electronic resources.
The original Thomas Library was dedicated in 1954 and occupied the space beside and under Weaver Chapel. The addition was dedicated in 1982.
Mission Statement -- The mission of Thomas Library is to provide resources and services that meet the information needs of the Wittenberg University community. The Library will make available information resources that support and enhance academic inquiry at Wittenberg and will share these resources with the broader scholarly community as appropriate. The Library will help learners master the use of information resources in order to facilitate education at Wittenberg and to enable and encourage lifelong learning.
Our primary focus is our undergraduate student population, but we also serve graduate students, faculty, staff, and community patrons.
